Also, the core game is still alive on all of the consoles, so there's no need for a PSP remaster of the entire Phantasy Star franchise. In a similar fashion, the rare portables are not really crucial for keeping the brand alive, it's the core Phantasy Star experience that newcomers should be concerned about, which is why an english remake of Phantasy Star Universe on PS4/XB1 is so great. They have sold more copies of Gravity Rush than they did of Phantasy Star Portable 2! (update: Gravity Rush 2 sold 400,000 copies in the US) But could you imagine how much money they have wasted that would have been available for other games if they actually sold a lot of copies of PSO 2 in the West? They would have bought the other games that they’re now selling for half the price. This is completely a matter of opinion, of course. If SEGA want to make sure that all of their fans have access to Phantasy Star on day one and for the rest of their life, they should just eliminate the region locking. Though the western fans and the Japanese fan have been given pretty much exclusive access to Phantasy Star for quite some time now, its still a shame that Sony have let this happen. The game was a huge success when it came out and has a good amount of fans since then. There is still one game on the PS Network that I would call a main staple, and that is Phantasy Star Portable 2.
